At the Little Pantry Patisserie and Cafe, we are passionate about the ethical standards and quality of our food and drinks. We want our customers to know where all our produce comes from, and the means by which each of our ingredients have been obtained.  This page gives you a general idea of our products and processes, however, our staff will be more than happy to offer further information.

The Food Standard Agency has rated all of our food and beverages a hygiene rating of 5.  This is the highest rating and means that our produce is extremely high in quality.

This rating also gives our customers an idea of how important cleanliness and hygiene around handling our food and drinks products.  We ensure that we cater to basic hygiene requirements by cleaning down all of our surfaces regularly as well as allocating different workspaces to different ingredients.

We are also aware that not everyone are meat-eaters, so we take extra special care when creating our vegetarian options for our customers.  From the areas where our sweets and savouries are made, to the tongs we use, we ensure that meat products and vegetarian options come into minimal contact.

All of our staff are highly qualified for the roles they have been employed for.  Our staff are trained in Food and Beverage handling, as well as Food Hygiene training, alongside Customer Service to ensure all of our guests have the best experience in our cafe.

Additionally, we also ensure that the packaging we use for our take-home products and our made to order service follows our ethical guidelines.  We ensure that minimal packaging is used and what we do use is bio-degradable so it is easily disposable.

However, we feel that the most important elements in the day to day running of our cafe is our highly motivated staff base.  Our cafe staff, as well as those behind the scenes working in our customer service and operations departments, are extremely valued as we know without them we just wouldn't work!  We value equality and diversity and ensure that our staff receive the best benefits and services whilst in our employ, making sure that they know just how important they are.

We know how important it is to make sure all the food we use is ethically sourced and produced.  That is why our cocoa and coffee beans and tea leaves comply with Fairtrade trading standards.  We ensure that we give back to those communities that provide us with the ingredients to make our delicious products, whilst putting our customers' minds at rest.

Within the cafe itself, we have a strict policy on recycling, ensuring that we are disposing of packaging in a sustainable manner, therefore protecting our environment.  We know that one cafe cannot change the world, but we hope that by setting a good example, our customers will feel that we value the world we are in and will pass on the message to others.
